POSITION: Parish Administrative Assistant

REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor and Associate Pastor with oversight by Staff Parish Relations Committee

STATUS: Part-Time (approximately 10 hours per week)

COMPENSATION: $18.00 per hour

WORK LOCATION: Primarily remote with occasional in-office meetings or support as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Parish Administrative Assistant provides confidential administrative support to the Pastors and pastoral staff. This part-time position is primarily remote and is responsible for assisting with scheduling, correspondence, document preparation, and other administrative tasks that support the ministry of the parish. The role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to work independently, Direct interaction with parish members is minimal.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide confidential administrative support to the Pastors and pastoral staff
• Manage calendars, appointments, and meeting schedules
• Prepare and disseminate correspondence, reports, meeting agendas, and other ministry documents
• Monitor and respond to emails and phone messages as directed
• Maintain organized electronic files and confidential records
• Assist with parish communications and administrative projects
• Coordinate administrative details for meeting and special events as assigned
• Perform general office duties, including date entry, and document management
• Attend occasional in-person meetings or work from the church office when needed
• Maintaining social media and website management as needed
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous administrative or executive assistant experience preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and video conferencing platforms
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential information
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and service-oriented
• Supportive of the parish’s mission and values

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Approximately 10 hours per week
• Flexible schedule with most work completed remotely
• Occasional in-person attendance at the church office or meetings may be required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Compensation is $18.00 per hour
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
