C-17 Flight Test Engineering ManagerCompany:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a C-17 Flight Test Engineering Manager to join our team in Edwards Airforce Base (AFB), CA.Position Responsibilities:Manage employees performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplinesDevelop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goalsAcquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvementsDevelop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reportsProvide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processesManage, develop and motivate employeesThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statementCandidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”5+ years of experience working across functional groups and engineering disciplines on a Military aircraft programExperience synthesizing program/project/statement of work (SOW) requisition into actionable and measurable tasksExperience with systems engineering, configuration management (CM), and quality functions, processes and requirementsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):5+ years of experience in an engineering technical lead or management role3+ years of experience in flight test engineering or related engineering disciplines supporting complex aerospace programs3+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in test planning, execution, and data analysis across multiple functions3+ years of C-17 engineering experience and an existing engineering technical network across engineering groups/skills3+ years of experience working on C-17 design/repair (Operational, Depot, Repair/Overhaul, and/or Build/Manufacturing) for structural/avionic/electronic/electrical systems/subsystems3+ years of experience applying program and project management principles (scheduling, risk management, cost control, and performance tracking)1+ years of experience with direct involvement in mentoring, developing and evaluating, engineering personnel across various disciplines and/or functions1+ years of experience developing and applying engineering processes, procedures and process-based metrics to drive efficiencyFamiliarity with DCMAI 8210.1C/DSkilled at presenting technical content to program leadership, Air Force customers, and integrated test teams with clarity and precisionAbility to negotiate, influence, and build consensus with diverse stakeholders including government, program management, and engineering leadershipAbility to understand and convey the big picture and the inter/Intra-relationships of skills and activities at the system and aircraft level, including the impact of changes in one area on another areaAbility to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organizations/Military ranks to convey product design/repairDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
