Senior Business Analyst

Schedule: Hybrid – onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Duration: 9–12 months, with potential for extension Employment Type: Contract Position Overview Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a backend reporting and data analytics environment. This role will work closely with data engineers who integrate data from various sources into an internal analytics data warehouse within a Databricks environment. The Senior Business Analyst will partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, gather and document requirements, and translate those requirements into actionable user stories. The role will also collaborate closely with the Product Owner, Project Manager, Lead Developer, and development team to prioritize work and coordinate delivery. Key Responsibilities Serve as a liaison between end users, product management, business stakeholders, and development teams to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into user stories. Partner with the Product Owner and stakeholders to maintain a healthy, prioritized product backlog. Facilitate and actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and user story refinement. Lead requirements discussions and ensure user stories are clear, complete, and ready for development. Conduct gap analyses and identify practical, cost-effective solutions that meet business requirements. Collaborate with developers and technical teams to ensure solutions and designs align with customer and business requirements. Provide timely clarification and support to development and QA teams throughout design, development, and testing. Develop SQL queries to retrieve and validate application data, investigate discrepancies, and assist with issue triage. Support business stakeholders and end users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), helping identify and evaluate options for resolving issues. Partner with business owners and technical architects to define product direction, establish scope, and support project planning. Work with the Product Owner, Project Manager, Lead Developer, and business partners to prioritize work and coordinate delivery. Translate business and reporting needs into clear requirements for data and analytics solutions. Required Qualifications 5+ years of Business Analyst experience. Demonstrated experience serving as the sole/primary BA with ownership of a product . Experience working across multiple projects or initiatives. 2+ years of Agile/Scrum or XP Business Analysis experience. Strong experience creating and managing user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlogs . Ability to independently lead or facilitate user story refinement within Scrum teams. Hands‑on experience writing SQL queries , including basic queries and joins. Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or a similar requirements/project management platform. Excellent business requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills. Strong understanding of data analytics, data warehousing, and/or Big Data concepts . Experience supporting testing activities and familiarity with testing methodologies and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) . Preferred Qualifications Experience working with a Data Warehouse or Data Lake environment. Experience supporting data engineering, reporting, analytics, or business intelligence initiatives. Familiarity with Databricks or similar modern data platforms. Experience working with technical teams responsible for data integration and data pipelines. #J-18808-Ljbffr
