A growing, Kansas City-based upscale casual concept is seeking an energetic and driven Executive Chef to join our team as we continue to expand.

The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing all back-of-house operations, ensuring excellence and consistency in every dish, and leading the culinary team with professionalism and purpose. This role is ideal for a confident, hands-on leader who thrives under pressure, embraces a high-energy environment, and is passionate about coaching others while maintaining elevated food quality and standards.

Day in the Life:

• Oversee all back-of-house operations, including inventory management and expo
• Lead by example in professionalism, urgency, and culinary standards
• Train, coach, and cross-train team members across BOH and FOH
• Maintain and enforce cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
• Provide clear feedback, delegate effectively, and ensure accountability and follow-through
• Drive consistency in food quality, presentation, and execution
• Remain calm, composed, and solutions-focused during high-pressure and event-driven service
• Collaborate with leadership to build strong systems, processes, and team culture

Requirements:

• 1+ year of leadership experience in a fast-paced, full-service kitchen
• Strong team-first mindset with high standards for execution and consistency
• Excellent communication skills, integrity, and emotional intelligence
• Proven leadership ability with strong delegation and follow-through
• Ability to remain level-headed and make sound decisions under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
• Commitment to maintaining excellence in cleanliness, safety, and overall operations
