Technician

Material Handler

The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting production by safely moving, organizing, and tracking materials throughout the facility. This position combines general labor, material handling, packaging, and inventory tasks, using hand tools, forklifts, and RF scanners to ensure that materials are available where and when they are needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare forms and related components for painting and repair to support production readiness.
• Assemble, disassemble, and replace components as needed to maintain equipment and materials in proper working condition.
• Supply production employees with materials by identifying, locating, and delivering the correct parts to designated areas.
• Move materials to and from storage areas, loading docks, and production zones using appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Assist with unloading trucks, containers, and other deliveries, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently.
• Read and analyze warehouse paperwork to verify accuracy of orders, shipments, and inventory transactions.
• Verify that all items received are correct and placed in their proper storage locations according to established procedures.
• Inspect and operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts and other tools, in a safe and correct manner.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by recording material movements and updates in the appropriate systems or logs.
• Organize incoming materials and follow all quality processes to ensure products meet required standards.
• Perform additional tasks and general labor duties as assigned by supervision to support overall operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper care and storage of tools and equipment.
• Organize and maintain storage locations such as pallets, racks, and shelves to promote efficient material flow.
• Ensure all products are properly labeled and returned to the correct location after use or processing.
• Follow all federal, state, and local safety regulations while performing daily tasks.
• Identify and correct potential safety hazards, escalating issues when necessary to prevent accidents.
• Adhere to all company safety rules and procedures, including safe lifting and equipment operation practices.
• Use required personal protective equipment at all times in designated work areas.
• Report or correct, when qualified, equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, material issues, or product deviations.
• Act with integrity by being responsible, trustworthy, and respectful in all interactions.
• Deliver quality work by following standard processes and making data-driven decisions where applicable.

Essential Skills

• Experience with general material handling in a production or warehouse environment.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials throughout the facility.
• Proficiency in packaging materials and products according to specified requirements.
• Ability to safely use hand tools for assembly, disassembly, and basic repair tasks.
• Experience operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Basic inventory management skills, including tracking, recording, and verifying materials.
• Ability to perform accurate picking of parts and materials from storage locations.
• Experience using RF scanners or similar devices for inventory and material tracking.
• Ability to read, understand, and analyze warehouse paperwork and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure correct labeling, storage, and handling of materials.
• Commitment to following safety regulations, company safety rules, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area in a demanding environment.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and productivity.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled, dirty production and pre-build shop environment where materials and equipment are actively used throughout the day. The standard shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the first 2–3 months, supporting general labor and material handling tasks in the pre-build section of the shop. Employees can expect hands-on work using hand tools, forklifts, and RF scanners, with an emphasis on safety, proper use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining an organized workspace in a physically demanding setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Jonesboro, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
