A Nurse, RN provides prescribed medical treatment and direct patient care within an inpatient behavioral healthcare environment. This role supports a diverse patient population and requires strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and reliability. The RN plays a vital role in patient assessment, treatment, and education, ensuring each patient receives the highest standard of care. As a Staff Nurse, you will provide oversight, direction, and supervision to activities performed by Patient Support Specialists and other personnel providing care to patients.

Position Logistics

• 37.5-hour work week Monday-Wednesday
• Routinely 3 -12.5 hours shift
• Days/nights weekly actual schedule as approved by supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Monitors withdrawal symptoms and vitals regularly. Responds to medical emergencies and changes in patient conditions. Documents patient progress accurately in medical records.
• Ensure adequate and proper medication regimen is started on each patient per protocol. Assist provider and implement orders. Educates patients about detoxification medications and recovery resources.
• Perform initial nursing admission assessments as required to include NAH-SAE, CIWA, and COWS.
• Screen clients (telephone assessment and walk-ins) to determine if admission criteria are met and refer to appropriate level of care.
• Direct ancillary staff/coordinate patient care during the shift. Assists with discharge planning and continuing care.
• PM Shift Nurses check for expired items and restocks med room items. PM Shift Nurses check medication orders with the MAR to ensure accuracy and approval by a provider within 24 hours of the order being entered. Completes pill counts, ensures AED is operational, completes appropriate shift reports

Minimum Education and/or Experience

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university required
• One year of related experience and/or training are required.
• State RN licensure and CPR certificate are required.

• SC Registered Nurse licensure is required.
