Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiographer to perform high-quality diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations on patients and research participants. The Sonographer will independently operate advanced sonography equipment, acquire and analyze diagnostic and research-quality images, and effectively communicate findings and preliminary results to physicians and cardiology staff.

The ideal candidate will have strong adult cardiac echocardiography experience, a solid understanding of cardiac and vascular anatomy and pathology, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy, patient care, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and clinical guidelines.
• Independently operate and maintain sonography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Perform comprehensive and technically accurate echocardiographic examinations , including studies involving complex cardiac conditions.
• Evaluate and synthesize sonographic findings and communicate relevant diagnostic and research information to physicians and cardiology staff.
• Provide preliminary findings and reports to physicians as appropriate.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and clinical decision-making.
• Apply knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology during examinations.
• Assist with research activities, including collection and documentation of research data and participation in research projects.
• Maintain accurate patient and examination documentation while adhering to established protocols.
• Protect confidential and sensitive patient and research information at all times.
• Provide compassionate, professional, and respectful patient care throughout the examination process.
• Review procedures and protocols and provide training, coaching, and guidance to junior-level Sonographers.
• Maintain a professional and positive demeanor when interacting with patients, physicians, researchers, and staff.
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and examination quality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate’s Degree in a related field required.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in echocardiography and vascular sonography required.
• Strong adult cardiac echocardiography experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to independently perform high-quality cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations.

Certification

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification required.
• Certification must be through ARDMS or CCI .

Required Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Strong understanding of echocardiography principles, procedures, and protocols.
• Ability to perform technically accurate cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations.
• Ability to recognize and appropriately communicate significant findings to physicians.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and research information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and patient-service skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cardiology and research teams.
• Ability to train, coach, and support junior Sonographers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical/research environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex adult cardiac echocardiography .
• Experience supporting clinical research or research protocols.
• Experience mentoring or training junior Sonographers.
• Experience working closely with cardiologists, physicians, and research teams.
