Weare seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing manufacturing team in Vernon, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment, strong knowledge of California payroll regulations, and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish. Experience with Paylocity is highly preferred. Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees on a weekly and/or bi-weekly basis.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and garnishments.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Review and audit timesheets, attendance records, and payroll reports for accuracy.
- Process new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and employee status updates within the payroll system.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage payroll tax reporting, wage attachments, and benefit deductions.
- Reconcile payroll reports, payroll liabilities, and general ledger accounts.
- Partner with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and audits.
- Support payroll compliance initiatives and maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience required.
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) required.
- Experience processing payroll for 200+ employees preferred.
- Paylocity experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of California wage and hour laws.
- Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits administration, and leave tracking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
