Medical Assistant - Convenient Care

Overview

The Medical Assistant I supports efficient patient flow by maintaining clinical supplies, rooming patients promptly, performing EKGs and point-of-care testing, and assisting physicians and nurses to ensure high-quality care for patients and families.

This position is open to candidates willing to obtain Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), and candidates with active CMA or RMA.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine direct patient-care tasks to support medical and nursing staff during exams and treatments
• Maintain a clean, safe, and private patient-care environment, including managing supplies
• Obtain vital signs and collect patient data for provider evaluation
• Conduct waiting-room and exam-room rounding
• Assist providers during medical procedures
• Perform procedures such as EKGs, ear irrigation, vision screening, dressing changes, wound care, suture/staple removal, point-of-care testing, and splint application
• Collect, label, and process specimens accurately
• Clean and restock exam rooms consistently
• Serve as a member of the code team
• Apply and document charges for Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• High School Diploma or GED required

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $17.12per hour - $27.73per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
