As a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients who require intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. Key Responsibilities

1. Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and implementing prescribed treatment plans in accordance with physician orders.
2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and continuously monitor their progress, promptly identifying any changes or deterioration.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with legal and hospital regulations.
4. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans, making evidence-based decisions to optimize patient outcomes.
5. Educate patients and their families on the plan of care, medications, and any necessary lifestyle modifications. Offer emotional support and answer questions to alleviate concerns.
6. Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in the PCU, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps, ensuring patient safety and accuracy.
7. Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiate emergency protocols when necessary, and provide life-saving interventions as required.
8. Adhere to hospital policies, quality standards, and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and the highest level of care.
9. Stay current with the latest advancements in nursing practice, attending continuing education programs and training sessions as required.
10. Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team, patients, and their families, ensuring a collaborative and compassionate care environment.

Qualifications

• Current Multi-State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and able to work in KY and IN.
• American Heart BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIH Stroke Scale Course (Through ASA) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient short term acute care nursing experience in a Progressive Care Unit.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
