Extraordinary projects need exceptional talent.DESCRIPTION:As an Estimator at Tutor Perini Building Corp, reporting to the Vice President of Preconstruction, you will have the opportunity to:Work with other Estimators in the assignment of project related responsibilities from conceptual estimating to preparation of GMP’sQuantify, analyze, and disseminate, to project estimating team, the detailed project program (work breakdown structure, room counts, functions, areas, etc.) during a project kick-off meetingReview, interpret, quantify, and accurately estimate cost in accordance with the project documentsIdentify and mitigate project related risk through strategic buyout and budget contingenciesSolicit, collect and critically analyze Subcontractor/Vendor budgets, bids or quotations associated with assigned projects or packagesReview and verify Scope of Work and pricing (Subcontractor Analysis Sheets) of other project team members when acting as the project lead estimatorPresents the project scope of work, estimated costs, risks and opportunities to executive management during the final review of assigned estimatesParticipate in the presentation of proposals, budgets, etc. to clients and prospective clientsCoordinate the delivery of appropriate project files for assigned projects to Operations Staff during a project turnover meeting using the Turnover Meeting Agenda and ChecklistParticipate and coordinate participation of project estimating team in the buyout process with operationsComplete all required paperwork for bids or proposals (such as bid forms, bonding requirements, etc.)Provides support to Project Operations Team for Change Order estimating, extended buyout after Contract or turnover to Operations Team and other estimating support as requiredVisit Tutor Perini Building Corp. project sites as frequently as practical to observe construction operations at various phases and become familiar with jobsite logistics, means and methods, and Operations personnelBe involved in preconstruction Training Programs, becoming proficient in all aspects of preconstructionREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Construction Management or similar from an accredited institutionFive or more years of experience in commercial construction estimatingExcellent communication skills to effectively solicit and work with individual project owner’s representatives, material suppliers and subcontractors in pre-bid estimate preparations and post-bid negotiationsCapable of effectively working within a cohesive estimating team to facilitate comprehensive cost proposals and conclude efforts during team reviews on major projectsExperienced in estimating software tools On-Center and Timberline or similar preferredOUR MISSIONWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.OUR VISIONWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
