Job Summary Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation | Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications | Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment | Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures General Profile Manages professional employees and/or supervisors Must have at least one professional expert or one supervisor as a direct report Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from manager Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions Oversees daily operations of one or more assigned production or manufacturing areas. Ensures that output of assigned area(s) meets established schedules or quality goals. Manages a team that is responsible for operating production or manufacturing machinery, assembling items, performing quality control, or packaging goods for shipment. Ensures that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately. Collaborates with R&D, product development/engineering, facilities management or maintenance, customer service, or other functions to ensure that organizational goals regarding safety, efficiency, quality, and profitability are met. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree Discipline/Major: Manufacturing, Business, Supply Chain or Engineering preferred Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Management skills. Problem/situation analysis. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships. Analytical thinking skills. Judgement. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
