Interim Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant (Contract)

Location: Chattanooga, TN (Onsite)
Duration: 2-3 Month Project

A well-established, privately held company in the hospitality industry in the greater Chattanooga area is seeking a Temporary Senior Accountant to support its accounting operations during a transition. This is a fully onsite position based in Chattanooga, TN.

This role will partner closely with the Controller and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial processes while supporting critical accounting functions and month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger activities
• Assist in month-end close , including account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
• Review accounting transactions and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Contribute to audit preparation and assist with responding to auditor requests
• Provide oversight or coordination of accounting workflows and processes to improve efficiency
• Partner with the Controller to support process improvements and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial data across multiple functional areas

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
• Experience supporting or leading accounting workflows and providing technical guidance preferred
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics / Great Plains is highly preferred
• Strong Excel skills , including PivotTables and LOOKUP functions
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
