Overview
Registered Nurse – ER, travel assignment in Colby, Kansas. Start date 08/03/2026 for several weeks. Weekly pay range $2,192 to $2,330 per week, guaranteed hours 36 per week. Shift is nights with a day shift on occasion. Setting: a Critical Access Hospital. This is a travel - temporary assignment through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care in the emergency department, including triage assessment, rapid stabilization, and ongoing monitoring of patients with acute injuries or illnesses; initiate STAT interventions as ordered.
- Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, blood products, and pain management therapies; monitor effects and document administration and responses in the electronic medical record.
- Initiate and interpret basic diagnostic tests (EKG, point-of-care testing) as permitted, and coordinate with the ED team to ensure timely diagnostic results and treatment.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, technicians, and ancillary staff to develop and implement patient care plans; communicate care updates to patients and families.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort through continuous surveillance, infection control practices, patient education, and safe discharge planning or transfer when appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and shift-specific procedures; participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
