AOC is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, team-driven Accountant to join the Accounting/Finance team. This position will support the monthly financial close process for the Americas region, with primary responsibilities including preparing and posting manual and Oracle-system journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, analyzing general ledger activity, and maintaining supporting documentation. The position will perform these responsibilities within a JSOX internal control environment, with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and adherence to established accounting policies and controls. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, practical experience in corporate financial accounting, a willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounting close processes, completing assigned accounting activities accurately and within established deadlines
• Prepare, document, and post manual and Oracle-system journal entries, including recurring and other system-supported entries; Ensure entries are accurate, properly supported, and recorded in the appropriate accounting period
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, research and resolve reconciling items, and maintain appropriate supporting documentation in accordance with established JSOX internal controls and company accounting policies
• Analyze general ledger activity and account classifications to identify unusual transactions, errors, trends, and required adjustments
• Support accounting activities across Americas locations, including accruals, allocations, cross-charges, intercompany transactions, and other general accounting activities; Coordinate with our global finance team for accounting entries related to our global holding companies
• Monitor and reconcile intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable activity and balances to support accurate financial reporting and consolidation
• Engage in the accounting/finance aspects of our customer rebate program with AOC Americas sales team and other finance team members; this includes recording all rebate accruals during month-end close and all payment calculations and issuances with the sales team throughout the month
• Participate in Americas lease accounting processes in accordance with IFRS 16; this includes recording needed additions/updates in lease accounting system and preparing related journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist the Americas Accounting Manager and plant controllers with recording financial transactions and with reviewing results and providing financial analysis as needed
• Support the documentation, execution, and continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls
• Assist with external and internal audits, including responding to requests from auditors and preparing supporting schedules and documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field required
• 0-2 years of experience in corporate accounting or public accounting; audit experience preferred
• CPA candidate or interest in pursuing CPA certification preferred
• Working knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts, including debits and credits, journal entries, accrual accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, or similar ERP systems and/or familiarity with financial consolidation systems such as OneStream or Hyperion is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve problems effectively
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Must be willing and able to work on-site in office 5 days/week
