Two full-time Occupational Therapy professionals are needed for contract positions working in school-based settings near Norwalk, CT for the upcoming school year. One opportunity is dedicated to working with elementary-aged students, while details are being finalized for the second roleboth require a passion for helping children succeed.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in a school environment
- Strong skills in assessing and addressing fine and gross motor needs
- Familiarity with school-based intervention plans
- Effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and other school staff
- Ability to adapt activities to individual student needs and goals
- OT state licensure (or eligibility) required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct OT services to students, focusing on fine and gross motor development, self-care, and classroom participation
- Administer assessments and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators and families to support learning and inclusion in the classroom setting
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and adjust interventions as needed
- Participate fully in team meetings and contribute expertise for positive student outcomes
