We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our expanding accounting team. This position offers a unique mix of traditional accounting responsibilities alongside accounts payable oversight. The role involves supporting month-end close processes, preparing journal entries, performing account and bank reconciliations, maintaining general ledger accuracy, assisting with sales tax filings, and supporting financial reporting activities. Additionally, the role includes assisting with accounts payable processes through an automated AP platform and gaining exposure to inventory accounting, inventory cost analysis, and operational reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close processes.

• Prepare journal entries and perform account and bank reconciliations.

• Maintain general ledger accuracy and assist with sales tax filings.

• Support financial reporting activities.

• Assist with accounts payable processes through an automated platform.

• Gain exposure to inventory accounting, inventory cost analysis, and operational reporting.

Essential Skills

• 1-4 years of accounting experience.

• Experience with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.

• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Excel Pivot Tables.

• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-driven environments.

• Exposure to Power BI.

• Knowledge of inventory costing and financial reporting.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Self-starter with a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite position. You will have the opportunity to work directly alongside the Accounting Director, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the business. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Romeoville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/hr.
