Grow with us, H2O+U.Your OpportunityStantec is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to help grow and lead our Florida hydrogeology practice. This role will support major water supply, deep injection well, ASR, monitoring well, and groundwater resource projects across Florida, while partnering with our Water teams in Tampa, Sarasota, Fort Lauderdale, Miami-Dade, and West Palm Beach. The ideal candidate brings strong technical credibility, Florida regulatory experience, client relationships, and the ability to mentor staff and support strategic pursuits.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAdhere to safe work practices and company /client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.Provide supervision and mentoring of junior staff, support client proposal negotiations, writing technical proposals, and support permitting and report preparationDesign, permit, and lead construction oversight of water supply, deep injection, and ASR wellsProvide QA/QC review and technical oversight of field and design work by other hydrogeologists within the companyWorking as a Project Manager to plan, execute, and deliver hydrogeology-related projects on schedule and within budgetLeading and/or supporting business / client development activities to secure new hydrogeology and water resource projects for clients throughout Florida, including assisting teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentationsDevelop scopes of work and budgets for hydrogeology projects as well as preparing subconsultant agreementsQualificationsRequired:15+ years of hydrogeology or water resources experienceFlorida PG or ability to obtain within 6 monthsExperience with water supply wells, monitoring wells, DIW, UIC, or ASRFlorida regulatory/permitting experienceProject management and client-facing experiencePreferred:MODFLOW/SEAWAT/Groundwater VistasDeep injection well construction oversightASR experienceExisting Florida client relationshipsBusiness development experienceYour Capabilities and CredentialsDesign, permitting, inspection, rehabilitation, testing, and construction management experience for water supply, monitoring, deep injection, and ASR well systemsExperience with the oversight of water supply well and deep injection well contractorsHighly experienced with development of hydrogeological characterizations including large well design, groundwater aquifer modeling, characterization, water quality analysis, aquifer test design and analyses, data analyses, and technical report writingExtensive knowledge and experience with the Aquifer Protection Program for Underground Injection Control (UIC) as defined in the Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 62-528Extensive knowledge and experience with State and Federal regulations pertaining to water supply management and water use permittingExperience with project management including the development of detailed budgets, determining project scope, establishing schedules, processing appropriate paperwork, and interacting with clientsStrong written, verbal, organizational, mentoring, and client communication skillsExperience with groundwater modeling tools such as MODFLOW, SEAWAT, Groundwater Vistas, or similar platforms is preferredExperience with analyzing pumping test dataMust pass drug test, background check, physical, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policyEducation and ExperienceMinimum of 15+ years of experience as a Hydrogeologist or Water Resource Engineer. Minimum of a B.S. in Geology is required with a M.S. preferred. FL Professional registration (PG or PE - Water Resources) or ability to obtain a registration in FL within six months.Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. The Senior Hydrogeologist will help shape and expand our hydrogeology services across Florida, serve as a trusted technical advisor to public-sector water clients, lead strategic pursuits, and mentor the next generation of hydrogeology professionals. For the right seller-doer, this role offers the platform to build meaningful client relationships, influence major water supply and groundwater projects, and help grow a statewide practice backed by Stantec’s national resources and multidisciplinary expertise.Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
