Job Title: Lab Technician
Work Location: 21 Davis Drive, Durham, NC 27713
Pay Rate: $22.00/hr on W2
Schedule Time: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours per week).

Position Summary:

• Serves as an Imaging Lab Technician within company’s Digital Engineering – CT & Imaging team supporting next-generation medical product development.
• Operates industrial computed tomography (CT) scanners and complementary imaging tools while conducting basic data post-processing and analysis.
• Assists in fabricating custom scan fixtures, documenting analytical findings, and maintaining lab safety standards.

Responsibilities:

·       Assist with the operation of an industrial computed tomography (CT) scanner and complementary imaging technologies in support of medical product development.

·       Develop proficiency in imaging systems, acquisition techniques, and analysis methods used to support BD's product portfolio.

·       Potential for basic post-processing of imaging data acquired from CT and other imaging systems using Volume Graphics, Geomagic, Mimics, and/or equivalent software platforms

·       Assist in documentation and creating reports of analysis findings.

·       Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team processes, laboratory operations, and overall team effectiveness.

·       Perform work in accordance with work instructions, BD safety requirements, and quality standards.

·       Support additional laboratory and project activities as assigned.

Must Have Skills:

• Education: Associate's degree in a scientific or related field.
• Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Communication & Detail: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective written/verbal communication.
• Work Style: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a positive learning attitude.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Equipment Experience: Prior experience operating precision imaging equipment, industrial machinery, or lab equipment.
• Environment: Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, or prototype development setting.
• Design Tools: Familiarity with CAD software or digital 3D model review tools.
• Certifications: Technical education or certifications relevant to imaging, engineering, or lab operations.

Additional Information:

• Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required in all laboratory areas.
