Controller Heavy Civil construction

Job Description Job Description We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. This role is critical to ensuring accurate project financials, compliance with construction accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insight to leadership. Key Responsibilities: Lead all accounting functions, including general ledger, reporting, and close process Oversee job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing Manage percentage-of-completion revenue recognition Partner with project managers to monitor job performance and profitability Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies Coordinate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements Supervise and develop accounting staff Required Qualifications: 7+ years of accounting experience, with significant experience in construction accounting Strong expertise in: AIA billings Job costing WIP reporting Percentage-of-completion accounting Experience with construction software: Sage 300 CRE (preferred) HCSS HeavyJob Procore Proven experience working with ERP or proprietary construction systems Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience in heavy civil construction highly preferred Additional Information Candidates may be required to complete a software proficiency assessment during the interview process Compensation & Benefits Salary: (based on experience) and will be discussed with Candidates Bonus eligible (performance-based) Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off Career growth opportunities within a stable, established company Company Description INDUSTRY LEADERS Ric-Man Construction FL. is a heavy civil construction firm that has been in the business for over 35 years.
