Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative

Abel Pet Clinic is seeking an outgoing Client Service Representative to serve as the welcoming face of our hospital. In this fast-paced role, you will create exceptional client experiences, build trust through compassionate service, manage appointments and daily patient flow, handle multi-line phones and in-person interactions, process transactions, and support clients with essential information about our services. Ideal candidates are friendly, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in a team-focused customer service environment.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time or part-time position with 8-hour shifts scheduled Monday through Thursday , and a half day on Fridays .

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• Previous veterinary receptionist or healthcare-related front-desk experience preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Ability to manage a multi-phone line system while assisting in-person clients
  • Experience working with veterinary practice management software
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars preferred
  • Ability to accurately process payments and maintain financial records
  • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with a team
  • Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-oriented during busy periods

Abel Pet Clinic is a well-established, full-service veterinary hospital serving Elk Grove for more than 20 years. Our 2-doctor team provides comprehensive medical, surgical, dental, and wellness care for dogs, cats, and pocket pets, with support from local board-certified specialists in radiology, ultrasonography, surgery, and cardiology. Our facility features digital radiology, digital dental radiology, an in-house laboratory, surgical suite, laser therapy, and supervised hospitalization.
