Job Summary:
This opportunity is for a Travel Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry at a healthcare facility located in West Burlington, Iowa. The role involves delivering high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patient populations utilizing the nursing process, with a focus on telemetry monitoring. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day and should be prepared to self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance. A Basic Dysrhythmia (Dysrhythmia) test will be administered during the first week, which must be passed to work on the telemetry/med surg unit.

Job Details:

• Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• Education/Experience: EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience in a similar unit within the past 12 months required; 0 years of prior experience minimum
• Location Requirements: Must have current licensure and be able to float to additional campuses if needed
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, working night shifts with a 12-hour shift duration and a minimum of 36 hours weekly
• Shift: Night shifts
• Float: Float rotation may be required, including to non-critical care inpatient units and the Emergency Department if patients are boarded
• Responsibilities include delivering care on telemetry and medical-surgical units, with a focus on patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse might be called to respond within one hour if called in during low census periods.
• Unit Description: The telemetry unit has ratios of 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights; the medical-surgical unit has ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. The unit operates on every other weekend rotation.
