Billing Assistant

About The Role You’ll assist patients, answer billing questions, and set up payment agreements using your kindness, problem‑solving, and customer‑service skills. Responsibilities include: Carry out billing customer service Perform billing clerical tasks, including processing claims and posting payments. Provide education and support on sliding‑fee discount applications. Travel to Neighborhood sites in Western New York as needed. Education and Skills High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and accuracy Kindness; treat each person with respect and compassion, valuing each person’s story. Resiliency; see opportunities to innovate and find solutions when challenges arise. Teamwork; be open to others’ perspectives and collaborate to meet shared goals. Commitment to adhere to standard operating procedures, policies, and federal, state, and local regulations. One year of medical billing experience and insurance verification preferred. Able to read, write, and speak English. Spanish is preferred. What We Offer Compensation: starting rate $18.50 per hour.
