- Conduct thorough evaluations for individuals spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observation.
- Craft bespoke treatment strategies aimed at achieving patient-specific short-term objectives alongside comprehensive long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions tailored to enhance communication skills, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
- Engage with a multi-disciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, and families to establish integrated care plans.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families, empowering them to continue progress between therapy sessions.
- Occasionally assist with patient assessments and therapy within inpatient settings to ensure seamless care throughout the therapeutic process.
- Keep meticulous and timely documentation that complies with all relevant state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Continuously pursue professional development and stay abreast of industry advancements.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment commencement.
- Strong expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for diverse age groups, with a comprehensive comprehension of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent ability to connect with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- A flexible approach that ensures therapy techniques are culturally and linguistically inclusive.
- Astute clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort with electronic health record systems and documentation protocols.
