Organ Transplant Physician Assistant Or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

The organ transplant physician assistant or acute care nurse practitioner assists, monitors, and manages the day-to-day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a physician assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards. Day/night hybrid shift previous transplant or surgical specialty experience preferred.

Responsibilities include providing medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician, performing and documenting accurate, complete, and relevant history and physical assessments, ordering, performing, and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures, managing general medical and surgical conditions, prescribing medication safely and effectively, promoting hackensack meridian health pa practice recognition, providing patient- and family-centered care, practicing as a healthcare provider according to the rules and regulations of the medical staff, applying evidence-based and value-based medicine, evaluating patient/family transition of care planning, demonstrating clinical expertise, translating best practice into clinical practice, providing culturally sensitive and educationally appropriate health management education to patients and families, facilitating consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team, serving as an advocate for patients and families, participating in organizational and departmental meetings, committees, and workgroups, demonstrating the highest level of accountability for professional practice, promoting a collaborative work environment, mentoring other pa's, precepting students in pa programs, participating in educational programs as a clinical expert, identifying patient/family educational needs and collaborating to implement appropriate teaching materials, promoting innovation by integrating new clinical knowledge into practice, participating in clinical research activities and disseminating findings through practice, education, presentations, and publications, identifying ethical care issues and coordinating interdisciplinary meetings to resolve them, complying with hackensack meridian health and department-specific scope of services, policies and procedures as applicable to role, adhering to all hackensack meridian health infection control and safety policies.

Qualifications include graduate of an nlnaacon accredited nursing program, master's or doctorate degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program, maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice, experience in a relevant patient care setting, national provider identifier, prescriptive authority through cds and dea registration according to new jersey state law, collaborative agreement with physicians on staff, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to microsoft office and/or google suite platforms, nj state professional registered nurse license, advance practice nurse license, bls aha basic health care life support hcp certification, board certified by aanp or ancc, advanced cardiac life support certification, successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the ama council on medical education, physician assistant license, national commission on certification of physician assistants, bls aha basic health care life support hcp certification, advanced cardiac life support certification.
