Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Location

Fargo, ND | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-hour Day Shifts | Every other weekend and holiday | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Overtime may be available after 48 hours

Key Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe patient assessments and administer medications via a variety of routes
• Formulate, document, and maintain individualized patient care plans
• Provide wound, line, and drain care as indicated
• Utilize Epic EMR, Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vitals machines in daily practice
• Float across multiple Med-Surg units and campuses, including oncology, cardiac, neuro, trauma, observation, medical behavioral, and innovations units
• Call in daily to determine assigned unit for each shift; willingness to float within the Med-Surg cluster is required

Required Qualifications

• Active North Dakota RN license or Compact state RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical experience in a large, busy hospital (minimum 200 beds)
• BLS certification – must be American Heart Association (AHA)
• NIHSS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience in a Level 2 or higher trauma center
• Experience in a fast-paced hospital environment with 250+ beds
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60–80 miles may be considered at a local travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous float pool or resource pool experience strongly preferred
• Candidates with a primary background in Resource Pool or Float Pool may be considered even if this is their first travel assignment
• Familiarity with Med-Surg specialty areas such as oncology, cardiac, neuro, or trauma
