Facilities Technician

Responsible for performing routine, corrective, and building maintenance activities for all Treasure Coast Hospice properties and thrift store locations.

Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year experience using basic knowledge of painting, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing. Skills levels required should include at least basic HVAC maintenance and basic electrical troubleshooting. Ability to maintain harmonious, constructive relationships with internal and external customers. Possession of a valid Florida driver's license with proof of automobile insurance. Attendance is a condition of employment.

Key Result Areas

• Responsible for completing scheduled preventative and routine general maintenance tasks on all Treasure Coast Hospice properties in compliance with safety regulations as measure by inspections without fault.
• Responsible for timely completion of service calls for repairs and/or replacements as measured by the facility work order tracking data.
• Accountable for the efficient movement and set up of office furniture as measured by employee satisfaction.
• Responsible for following safety practices as measured by employee incident reports.
• Maintain a high level of urgency, customer consciousness and service excellence.
• Participate as an active supporter of the Treasure Coast Hospice compliance program, including an emphasis to report, as well as complying with all Federal, State and Local laws as well as the organization's compliance program.
• Fulfill all responsibilities related to the success of the strategic plan of the organization, as requested and assigned

Position will be categorized as category II (involves no routine exposure to blood, body fluids/tissues but may occasionally require performing unplanned category I tasks).


Working Conditions

• Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
• Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
• Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
• Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
• Crawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
• Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
• Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
• Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
• Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
• The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
• The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions.

Additional Information

Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites. The person in the position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
