Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia Specialty: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) / NICU NP Start Date: September 14, 2026 Assignment Length: 13 Weeks with Option to Extend Schedule 3 5 shifts per month 12-hour shifts Must be willing to rotate days, nights, and weekends Primary need is for night shift coverage Part-time and PRN availability considered Practice Setting Hospital-based Level IV NICU 64-bed NICU EMR: Epic Patient Population Infants and neonates Patient Volume Day Shift: Approximately 8 mixed-acuity patients Night Shift: Approximately patients Clinical Responsibilities NICU patient management Attendance at high-risk deliveries Ventilator management Intubations Central line placement (PICC, UAC, UVC) Lumbar punctures ECMO support experience preferred (patients managed by fellows) Work independently and autonomously within a Level IV NICU environment Requirements Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Active Virginia license required DEA required CSR required BLS required PALS required Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience Neonatal training required Level IV NICU experience required High-risk delivery experience required Must be comfortable practicing independently Credentialing Estimated credentialing timeframe: days Virginia licensing currently taking approximately 8 weeks This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NICU APP seeking flexible PRN coverage in a high-acuity Level IV NICU with a collaborative team environment.
