Production Team Lead

JOB PURPOSEThe Assembly Line Lead oversees the daily operations of the assembly line, managing and supervising Level 1, 2, and 3 Assembly Associates. This role is responsible for ensuring production goals are met, quality standards are maintained, and all processes are executed efficiently. The Assembly Line Lead acts as a bridge between management and the assembly staff, ensuring that work orders are completed on time, materials are available, and team members are trained, motivated, and aligned with company objectives.RESPONSIBILITYSupervise Assembly OperationsOversee daily operations of the assembly line, ensuring production targets are met.Supervise Level 1, 2, and 3 Assembly Associates, guiding them in task execution, performance standards, and alignment with company goals.Monitor employee attendance, performance, and address any issues, including recommending disciplinary actions when needed.Provide mentorship and training to associates, ensuring continuous skill development and engagement.Production Planning and SchedulingManage daily assembly schedules, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of finished assemblies and sub-assemblies.Communicate production expectations, updates, and schedules to associates and relevant departments, including production supervisors and quality teams.Monitor and release work orders, reviewing and closing them to prevent operational delays or material variances.Material ManagementEnsure raw materials are available on the assembly line, working closely with the inventory and purchasing teams to resolve material gaps.Maintain close coordination with the warehouse and logistics team to ensure a steady flow of materials into production.Quality Control and ImprovementCollaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure assembled products meet quality standards.Lead efforts to identify process improvements, enhance product quality, and reduce waste.Address quality issues as they arise, providing feedback and corrective guidance to assembly staff.Cross-functional CollaborationMaintain open communication with management, engineering, and purchasing to align production goals and operational plans.Provide input on material availability and scheduling constraints, working cross-functionally to resolve issues.QUALIFICATIONS3-5 years of experience in assembly line operations, including leadership or supervisory roles.Strong understanding of assembly processes, production planning, and quality management.Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent combination of experience.KnowledgeAssembly Processes: In-depth understanding of assembly workflows, tools, and techniques.Production Scheduling: Expertise in managing assembly schedules and work orders to ensure timely production.Material Management: Strong knowledge of material flow, inventory, and raw material handling.Software Proficiency: Familiarity with production management software for managing work orders, planning data, and material inventory.Safety Compliance: Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience working with engineering, purchasing, and quality teams to meet production targets.SkillsLeadership and Team Management: Strong skills in supervising, mentoring, and motivating employees to achieve production goals.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication to convey expectations, provide feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Problem-solving: Analytical skills to address production issues, material shortages, and process inefficiencies.Data Management: Proficiency in tracking production data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage production schedules, and meet deadlines efficiently.Conflict Resolution: Skilled in addressing employee performance issues and fostering a collaborative team environment.AbilitiesMulti-tasking: Ability to oversee multiple tasks, including supervising production, managing schedules, and overseeing material availability.Attention to Detail: Maintain accuracy in production planning, data entry, and quality checks.Decision-making under Pressure: Capable of making informed decisions quickly during high-pressure situations.Adaptability: Ability to adjust production plans and workflows in response to unforeseen challenges.Employee Training: Proficiency in training and developing team members to meet production and quality standards.EXPOSUREThis position may be exposed to and occasionally handle the following chemicals:TALC IMP BC IMP 1821L (Nytal Powder)ISOPROPANOL 99% (355) (Alcohol)TOLUENE (399)MEK (366)THFCYCLOHEXANONE DR448ACCELERATOR FOR ADHESIVE, ACC40091087 URETHANE ADHESIVEADHESIVE, UR5208, URETHANELA4123 REPAIR KITS 4OZ CANS (Repair Cans)PIGMENT, CARBON BLACKADHESIVE, N1030 POLYCHLOROPRENE IAW MIL-A-5540B, CL1 OR 2ADHESIVE, RUBBER, CLEAR, R-388 (325 LBS/DRUM)Appropriate safety measures and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required when working with these substances. #J-18808-Ljbffr Wing-Inflatables
