The Network Engineer will plan, support, and evaluate complex network systems; provide technical leadership in network planning and architecture; and ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of the networks that enable Drone Armor development, test, and operational environments.What You'll Be DoingNetwork Planning, Engineering & ArchitecturePlan, support, and evaluate complex existing network systems and make recommendations for resources required to maintain and/or expand service levelsProvide highly skilled technical assistance in network planning, engineering, and architecture to support Drone Armor C-UAS operationsPlan and incorporate how new network resources and applications will exist on the network, ensuring compatibility, performance, and securityStandards, Products & Problem ResolutionDevelop and maintain technical standards and interface applications for network infrastructureIdentify and evaluate new products and technologies and provide solutions for network problemsInterface with internal and external customers and vendors to determine system needs and ensure network solutions meet mission and business requirementsMonitoring, Capacity Planning & MetricsUse network management tools to discover, map, and maintain the networkMonitor and maintain network interfaces to ensure the highest level of performance and make modifications and enhancements as neededProvide monthly metrics for network availability, bandwidth usage, and other metrics as requestedResponsible for network capacity planning to support current and future operational demandsConfiguration Management, Upgrades & DocumentationResponsible for network equipment OS and version upgrades, ensuring standardization and security complianceConduct research of new technologies and implementation strategies to enhance network capabilitiesDocument procedures and keep network diagrams and related material up to dateHandle escalated user problems, questions, and requests on network issues, working with other groups within IS to resolve network-related issues as neededLeadership & CollaborationLead and direct the work of other Network Engineers as requiredCollaborate with systems, cybersecurity, software, and test teams to ensure integrated, secure, and resilient network operations across lab, field, and operational environmentsWhat Required Skills You'll BringEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required with 5 years of experienceOR8 years of relevant network engineering experience may be substituted for educationExperienceExperience planning, supporting, and evaluating complex network systemsExperience providing highly skilled technical assistance in network planning, engineering, and architectureExperience developing technical standards, evaluating new network products, and providing solutions for network problemsExperience with network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and availability/bandwidth metricsExperience performing network equipment OS/version upgrades and maintaining network documentation and diagramsExperience handling escalated network issues and leading or directing other network engineersTechnical CompetenciesStrong understanding of network architectures, protocols, and routing/switching technologiesExperience with network management and monitoring tools for discovery, mapping, and performance trackingFamiliarity with network security principles and integration with enterprise cybersecurity controlsAbility to interface effectively with customers, vendors, and cross-functional technical teamsSecurity & CitizenshipMust be a US CitizenSECRET security clearanceWhat Desired Skills You'll BringAdvanced Education & CertificationsBachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplineRelevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, Network+, or equivalent vendor certifications)Specialized ExperienceExperience supporting DoD, defense, C-UAS, or other mission-critical, secure network environmentsExperience with tactical, field, or test-range networking in contested or bandwidth-constrained environmentsAdditional Technical SkillsExperience with software-defined networking (SDN), VPNs, and advanced QoS/traffic engineeringFamiliarity with automation and scripting for network configuration and managementSecurity Clearance Requirement:An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.The Federal Solutions segment delivers resources to our US government customers that ensure the success of missions around the globe.
