Event Sales Representative – The Pickle Pad & Birdie Partee

About the Venue

The Pickle Pad & Birdie Partee is a family entertainment center in Old Bridge, NJ, featuring six indoor pickleball courts, four golf simulator bays, and mini-golf/fun-house attractions, alongside a full bar and dining area under the Crave Social Eatery concept. Beyond walk-in play, the venue is built to host corporate outings, private parties, leagues, and social events — making it a strong fit for group bookings and repeat business.

Position Summary

The Event Sales Representative drives new event bookings for The Pickle Pad & Birdie Partee, reporting directly to the General Manager. This is a hunter role: the person proactively calls and visits local corporations, organizations, and groups to pitch hosting their events at the venue, while also owning every inbound lead generated online and through social media from first contact to closed contract. Compensation is hourly plus commission, so this role directly benefits from a driven, outgoing personality that isn't afraid to pick up the phone or walk into a business unannounced.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively cold call, email, and visit local businesses, corporations, and organizations to pitch hosting their events (team outings, holiday parties, off-sites, client entertainment) at the venue
• Respond quickly to every inbound lead from the website, phone, and social media, and drive each one to a closed booking
• Build and manage a personal pipeline of prospects and leads using a CRM, tracking outreach, follow-ups, and close rates
• Use social media, online lead-gen tools, and local business directories/networks to identify and generate new prospects
• Prepare and deliver event proposals, pricing packages, and venue tours for prospective clients
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms within approved guidelines, and close signed event bookings
• Hand off confirmed events cleanly to the GM and operations team, with clear details on group size, package, timing, and any special requests
• Represent the brand at local networking events, chamber of commerce meetings, and community functions to build referral relationships
• Track and report on outreach volume, pipeline status, and booked revenue against monthly targets
• Follow up with past event clients to encourage repeat bookings and referrals

Qualifications & Skills

• 1-3+ years of sales, business development, or event sales experience; hospitality, entertainment-venue, or B2B sales background a plus
• Outgoing, confident, dynamic personality — genuinely comfortable cold calling and walking into a business unannounced to pitch decision-makers
• Strong closing skills with a track record of converting leads into signed deals
• Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) and online lead-generation tools/ads for prospecting
• Comfortable using a CRM or lead-tracking system to manage a pipeline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting proposals and pricing to corporate clients
• Self-motivated and goal-driven, able to work independently against monthly booking and revenue targets
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local corporate visits and prospect meetings
• Available for some evening/weekend work to accommodate client meetings, site tours, and events

Compensation & Schedule

• Competitive hourly base rate plus commission on closed/booked events
• Full-time or part-time hours based on candidate and business need
• Schedule flexibility required for prospect meetings, site tours, and events, including some evenings and weekends
• Uncapped commission potential tied directly to booked event revenue

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Regular local travel to prospect and visit corporate clients and organizations
• Split time between office/venue-based work (calls, lead follow-up, proposals) and on-site or off-site meetings
• Some evening and weekend work required for site tours, client meetings, and live events
• Able to give venue tours that involve walking the facility, including courts and simulator bays
