divh2Carpenter General Foreman/h2pThe Carpenter General Foreman oversees and coordinates the daily operations of civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines. The role involves supervising crews, managing resources, and liaising with project managers and subcontractors. Must be familiar with work assigned and ensure that all work meets or exceeds standards accountability for crew. Responsible for the motivation of their assigned employees and will support his/her immediate supervisor in any possible manner to effectively perform their duties. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliSupervise and coordinate activities of civil construction crews including earthworks, concrete, drainage, storm water and structural works/liliSupervise and set direction for all Foreman and Leadmen on-site to ensure best use of company resources; and adherence to all company policies and state and federal regulations/liliProvide formal coaching feedback to Foreman/liliSchedule equipment, materials and tools to effectively utilize all resources and to maximize production and minimize costs after becoming familiar with scope of work and site conditions and collaborate with Civil Superintendent on all scheduled activities/liliManage, coach, train and implement standardized work plans and assist Civil Superintendent in process improvement efforts/liliManage and maintain responsibility for safe working conditions and safety procedures on the project, more particularly for specific discipline./liliUnderstand and enforce company, jobsite specific, federal, and state safety regulations on site and addresses any concerns with Civil superintendent/liliThe General Foreman will be accountable project construction activities and communicating the expectations to craftsman, subcontractors, and vendors/liliMaintain records of labor and equipment production and compare it to the estimate/liliCommunicate with the Civil Superintendent concerning any cost over runs and utilization of the company resources/liliMentor Foreman on the work discipline such as production costs, scope of work, quality, and safety/liliMaintain and update all crew and equipment matrixes/liliResponsible for holding crew members and foreman accountable for company and project rules/liliMake sure that all Standard Operating Procedures and Best Practices are followed/liliMust be familiar with mix designs and the curing process for concrete/liliResponsible for conducting weekly/quarterly safety and quality audits/liliHave an advance knowledge of the QC process as it pertains to check out process/liliWill be responsible for receiving permits to support the work being performed/li/ulh3Qualifications/h3pstrongPhysical/strong/pulliMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs., but may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs./liliHearing and comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions/liliWill need to perform sedentary to heavy work/liliWill operate office equipment of all types/liliClimb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds/liliRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis/liliPosition may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, reaching overhead, squatting, sitting or standing and lifting/liliMust be able to manipulate and traverse uneven terrain, ladders, and multi-floor buildings with no elevator/liliMust be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc./liliWill be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.)/liliVision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus/liliAbility to drive cars/trucks as needed/li/ulpstrongMental/strong/pulliMust have the ability to communicate effectively with management/supervision and field workers/liliTalking and reading writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy/liliAbility to use math/complete calculations/liliWork at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractions/liliDecision making skills necessary/liliDetail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details/liliRequires strong leadership and motivational skills/li/ul/div
