Claims Counsel

CATIC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Claims Counsel to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting the company and our policyholders by managing and resolving claims relating to CATIC title insurance policies. This is a unique opportunity to apply your legal expertise in a collaborative, mission-driven environment within the real estate and title insurance industry. This is hybrid role and will be perfect for a candidate that resides in the state of Connecticut. Key Responsibilities Investigate and evaluate the merits of title insurance claims Select and collaborate with outside counsel in resolving and defending claims Negotiate claim settlements effectively and efficiently Prepare articles for publication and participate in legal seminars for members and agents Ensure compliance with all company policies, including CATIC’s Code of Ethics and Conduct Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Claims team and organization Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple matters and collaborate with legal professionals Leadership mindset with the ability to influence and motivate others Experience in title insurance underwriting is a plus Education & Experience Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active license to practice law 3–5 years of legal experience, with a focus on real estate and/or litigation Why Join CATIC?
