Senior Systems Engineer

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the design, development, and integration of advanced systems aboard surface vessels. Your core responsibilities will include:Identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses across multiple technical domainsDeveloping system security documentation on both new and fielded information systemsProviding system accreditation/certification evaluation and test supportGenerating technical engineering products using appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycleParticipating in requirements analysis, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration, and verification testingPerforming interface definition studies of system components and productsPlanning and executing sub-tasks across all phases of system developmentResearching and analyzing data such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE/BFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or applicationDesigning complete and complex frameworks, systems, or productsPerforming technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elementsContributing to the shaping of future products by influencing the frameworks and processes used across multiple programsDriving the achievement of business objectives through sound engineering practiceWhat We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsFully proficient understanding and application of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theoriesFully proficient use of tools for managing requirements and modeling systemsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information and report findings relevant to sound systems engineering designExperience working in a cross-functional team environment throughout the product life cycle – from pre-proposal through post-delivery supportFully proficient in Microsoft Office tools for various engineering tasksAbility to quickly grasp and apply new information and handle complex assignments efficientlyAwareness of business objectives and the role of engineering in achieving those goalsSkilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions effectivelyAbility to identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovationPreferred QualificationsWe encourage you to apply even if you have only some of the following experiences.
