Reports To : Executive Director of Leadership Development Overview As the birthplace of public education in the United States, the Boston Public Schools is committed to partnering with families to transform the lives of all children through exemplary teaching and leadership. Among other indicators, graduation rates, NAEP scores and student re-engagement and access to arts have increased greatly over the last years. Boston Public Schools is committed to the achievement and well being of each of our scholars and believe that strong leadership teams are a key lever in school success. The Office of Leadership Development team is committed to driving proactive recruitment and strategic pipeline cultivation for all school administrator roles. This is critical, high-stakes work, as the success of every BPS school and the achievement of our scholars directly depend on high-quality, diverse, and instructionally-focused leadership teams. The Coordinator operates as a mission-critical, highly systematic partner to the Executive Director of Leadership Development, holding primary ownership and accountability for the entire infrastructure of recruitment systems, market research, and all selection logistics. This pivotal role demands exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the self-driven nature required to execute complex, multi-faceted projects independently and successfully from the conceptual planning phase through final completion. Responsibilities Recruitment Strategy & Outreach: Conduct comprehensive pipeline research and rigorous market analysis, including competitor mapping and compensation benchmarking, to continuously identify, track, and engage high-potential, diverse candidates nationally and locally. Prepare detailed strategic reports analyzing diversity metrics, candidate conversion rates, and time-to-hire data to inform the Executive Director's overall talent strategy. Coordinate multi-channel, targeted outreach efforts, such as organizing and hosting both in-person information sessions and virtual webinars, actively attending career fairs, and strategically engaging with higher education institutions, leadership preparation programs, and professional affinity groups to build and sustain a diverse, ready-to-hire candidate pipeline for critical administrator roles. Marketing & Communications: Develop, write, and execute professional, engaging marketing content, outreach materials, and consistent digital communications across various platforms (web, email, social media). Create high-impact recruitment brochures and presentations, draft compelling social media content to enhance the employer brand, and diligently manage all internal and external communication. Maintain a consistent, high-touch communication cadence with potential candidates through the Leadership Development newsletter to promote BPS leadership opportunities, nurture passive interest, and ensure candidates feel valued and informed throughout their entire journey. Selection & Logistics Management: Lead the full logistical planning and flawless execution of all administrator selection processes. Design, schedule, and manage complex, multi-stage interview days (encompassing both virtual and in-person components for finalists), ensuring a highly professional, equitable, and positive candidate experience. Act as the primary communications manager for all external candidate relations and serve as the essential liaison coordinating cross-departmental hiring committees, ensuring they have all necessary materials, training access, and technology support. Oversee all operational logistics for team events, professional workshops, leadership inductions, and internal trainings, which includes site reservation, ensuring seamless technology readiness (A/V setup, virtual meeting links), and managing all material distribution and setup needs. Additional Schools Division Responsibilities Manage the critical day-to-day administrative needs of the team with efficiency and discretion. Efficiently triage general and sensitive inquiries (both via email and phone), which frequently involve confidential topics such as compensation and benefits, contractual obligations, or sensitive background information. Maintain a comprehensive database of all school leaders, school-based BASAS, and managerial employees, and candidate pools with a dedication to absolute data integrity and compliance to ensure accurate, up-to-date reporting that supports equitable and legally sound hiring decisions.
