We provide a healthy work-life balance, outstanding perks such as generous bonuses and a 401K contribution, an array of SEC and privately held clients to engage with, and a clear path to Partnership!Tax Director Duties Conducts thorough technical review and endorsement of all tax filings and government audits of varying complexity.Act as a domain expert in a specific discipline or sector.Oversees client service tasks ensuring assignments are completed within budgeted timelines.Takes full accountability for larger tax returns and assigns duties to tax preparers as required.Participates actively in client meetings and tax planning initiatives to support the A&A Department with major clients.Serves as a resource for tax experts/specialists and A&A personnel regarding specific tax issues and inquiries.Handles client service obligations for Tax Manager's clients or those delegated by the Partner.Communicates significant tax and regulatory changes affecting the firm's clients to appropriate staff.Manages government tax audits, potentially representing clients before tax authorities.Ensures tax team members' qualifications are up to date; reviews staff assignments for suitability.Assists in recruiting, performance evaluations, and training of staff to foster capable, skilled professionals.Handles accurate and timely billing and collection processes.Fully understands firm's tax principles and viewpoints on tax issues.Stays abreast of economic and political trends that may impact tax legislation or business landscape.Participates in firm growth initiatives through engagement with referral sources, community, and industry endeavors.Trains and mentors senior, semi-senior, and junior accountants for professional development.Involved in reviews and assessments of the tax department.Occasional business travel required for client meetings, offices, and seminars.Periodic overtime during certain times of the year, with heavy workload from January to April.Requirements:Seven to ten years of public accounting experience, showcasing progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.Minimum of two (2) years representing clients before tax authorities.At least one (1) year supervising and directing tax preparers.Bachelor's degree in accounting; Master's in taxation is a plus.Forty hours of annual continuing education to enhance technical and business skills.Active CPA license and good standing with the AICPA.
