HR Solutions Analyst - Workday

ESI currently serves over 361 health care operations that employ over 55,000 employees across 17 states. These operations have no corporate headquarters or traditional management hierarchy. Instead, they operate independently with support from the “Service Center” - a team of accounting, legal, human resources, benefits, compliance, payroll, construction, training and information technology resources. Service Center human resources employees are dedicated subject matter consultants who guide and advise field personnel. About the Role We’re seeking a dynamic HR Solutions Analyst – Workday to bridge HR expertise with technology-driven solutions. This role requires a combination of hands‑on HR experience across all areas of HR (recruitment, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee lifecycle management), business analysis, and Workday system optimization. You’ll partner with HR teams, IT and business stakeholders to enhance, optimize processes in and out of Workday, and deliver impactful HR technology projects from kickoff to implementation. What You’ll Do - Key Responsibilities: Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with HR teams to prioritize business needs, understand current HR processes, identify pain points and determine how Workday can best address them. System Design and Configuration: Design and configure Workday modules (e.g., Core HCM, Talent Management, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits) to align with business needs, including creating custom workflows, fields, and reports. Implementation Support: Lead the implementation process, including data migration, testing, user training, and change management activities. System Maintenance: Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and address user queries related to Workday functionality. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize HR processes within Workday or with a Workday solution in mind, proposing and implementing system enhancements to improve efficiency and data accuracy. Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain customized reports and dashboards within Workday to provide actionable insights for HR leadership. Project Management: Lead small to medium-sized projects with a Workday solution in mind, managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations. Projects should always have a Workday solution Required Skills and Qualifications: Workday Expertise: Knowledge of Workday HCM modules and functionalities, including configuration options and best practices. HR Domain Knowledge: Understanding of core HR concepts like recruitment, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee lifecycle management. Business Analysis Skills: Strong ability to gather and analyze business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and document detailed process flows. Project Management Skills: Ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects with defined timelines and milestones from kickoff to implementation. Technical Skills: Familiarity with data manipulation, reporting tools, and basic understanding of system integrations. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, including HR leadership, technical teams, and end-users. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in Workday, preferably in a project manager or BSA role Strong knowledge of Workday modules, HR processes, and data workflows Proven experience leading cross-functional projects with a focus on HRIS or enterprise systems Ability to translate business requirements into technical specs and actionable plans Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills PMP, CBAP, or Workday certifications are a plus Why Join Us: You’ll work on impactful HR tech initiatives that shape the future of our employee experience. Additional Information: This full‑time exempt position will be based at the Service Center in San Juan Capistrano, California. This position offers a hybrid work option after a 90‑day probationary period (not fully remote). Salary: $80,000-130,000/annual DOE; may be eligible for bonus Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
