This position provides assistance to the resident/patients in accordance with state and company regulations. The Wellness CNA may also participate in the Culinary Program and Community Program to ensure the best quality of care is provided for all residents/patients.Essential Job FunctionsAssist residents/patients with their personal care and activities of daily living as assigned and as requested by residents/patientsReview and participate in 24 Hour Reports, Daily Logs, Shift Cross-over Reports and verbal reports as neededAssist residents/patients to and from scheduled programsPromote personal choices, independence and spiritual needs as neededPerform laundry duties as assignedRespond to resident/patient emergency calls in a timely mannerEnsure compliance with new resident/patient care protocolsReport all resident changes in condition immediately to the Wellness Nurse or Resident Wellness DirectorAssure that established infection control practices are maintainedReport all accidents and incidents as soon as possible to supervisor, no matter how minorMaintain the confidentiality of residents'/patients' personal care informationHonor the residents'/patients' personal and property rightsBe knowledgeable and prepared for emergency situations including disasters, fire and other emergenciesPerform daily housekeeping tasks as assigned using established procedures and standardsAssist in the dining room with serving meals and clearing of tablesProvide post-mortem care as instructedMust be in company uniform and resident ready at all timesPerforms other related essential duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAble to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents/patients, family members, vendors, referral sources and outside contactsAble to make independent decisionsMust be able to communicate in a warm, friendly and caring mannerMust possess a passion to work with and around senior citizensKnowledge of customer service principles and practicesEducation RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentCertified Nursing AssistantCPR certification / First Aid certificationExperience RequirementsExperience working with seniors preferredPhysical RequirementsThe following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:Able to stand or walk 75% of the dayAble to concentrate with frequent interruptionsAble to work under stress and in emergency situationsAble to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing and graspingAble to talk and hear effectively in order to convey messages, instructions and information to residents and team membersOccasionally lift / carry up to 50 pounds.Occupational Exposure / Personal Protective EquipmentWork in all areas of the communitySubject to reactions from dust, disinfectants and cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and other conditionsRequired to use personal protective equipment and supplies to prevent burns, falls, and infection and follow safety policies and proceduresPersonal protective equipment includes infection control kit, rubber gloves and non-slip shoesSubject to infectious diseases, substances and odorsFollow Safety Policy & Procedures6am-2pm, Skilled Nursing, Rotating schedule, Must have current certification as a nurse aide in Texas. Experience in Skilled Nursing/Long Term care a plus.
