Job Description:

Clark University seeks a Head Softball Coach who brings a competitive spirit a love of the game and a talent for bringing out the best in student-athletes. Leading the Cougars in NCAA Division IIIs New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) youll guide all aspects of the program from recruiting and player development to game strategy and team culture.

Youll join a university where athletics is a significant part of campus life: nearly one in five undergraduates competes on one of Clarks 17 varsity teams. Located in Worcester Massachusetts Clark combines the personal connections of a small university with the opportunities of a research institution. Major Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a competitive softball program that supports student-athletes athletic development academic success and personal growth.
• Plan and administer recruiting activities including identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes developing recruiting strategies and materials and maintaining contact with recruits.
• Recruit student-athletes who can compete successfully at the NCAA Division III level and succeed academically at Clark.
• Develop season plans lead practices and manage game preparation and strategy.
• Develop and implement conditioning programs that support player development and readiness for competition.
• Establish clear expectations for teamwork conduct and accountability and address violations of team and University rules and policies.
• Meet with student-athletes throughout the season and conduct postseason meetings to review performance development and goals.
• Ensure appropriate safety precautions during practices games and team travel.
• Work with athletics administrators to manage program resources within established budgets.
• Maintain accurate recruiting and program records and communicate program activities needs and concerns with athletics leadership.
• Build effective working relationships with colleagues across the University to support the program and the student-athlete experience.
• Conduct all program activities in accordance with NCAA Division III NEWMAC and Clark University rules policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree Masters preferred
• 3-5 years of coaching experience required
• Knowledge and passion for the sport of softball
• Possess valid drivers license
• CPR AED and First Aid certifications are required
• Demonstrated ability to lead motivate and communicate with student athletes
• Commitment and dedication to academic success
• Strong organizational and developmental skills
• Ability to work with a diverse population
• Ability to conduct practices and manage game strategy

Additional Information:

Expected Hiring Range: $61700 to $70600

Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget internal equity and the selected candidates qualifications experience education and other job-related credentials. This range represents Clark Universitys good-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clarks compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
