Product Manager, Vice President - Open Source

Open source is a critical component to the software development lifecycle (SDLC) at JPMorganChase. At JPMC we build with open source, engage with open source forums and communities, and contribute open source code to the upstream repositories of projects we consume. As a Product Manager, Vice President in the Office of CTO you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end life cycle that encompasses our open source software use at the firm. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer – in this case our developers, both internal and external, and developing platforms they use to consume and contribute to open source. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of the products developers use, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier developer experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed our internal and external developer customers' expectations.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability Drive the execution and realization of the open source roadmap, both around how we consume open source and also how we make and accept contributions/ this work will be done with the Head of Open Source Governance and input from other senior leaders in the Office of CTOIdentify, prioritize, and implement (with Python or in Tableau) open source consumption (inbound) and contribution (outbound) Key Performance Indicators, and other metricsDevelop, implement, and help enforce policies, guidelines, controls, and control procedures related to both the firm's consumption of, and contribution to, open sourceCurate our open source foundation investment portfolio and maintain support strategiesServe our internal developer customers by fulfilling open source consultation requests Be active and visible in the open source community; participate in and speak at open source, and more general developer conferences Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management Fluent in open source license, open source licensing terms; strong knowledge of fundamental concepts of open source intellectual property legal and licensing concepts; fluent in all things Git and GitHub, knowledge of Git is a mustUnderstand the fundamentals of Software Bills of Materials, software supply chain, and software securityGood organizational and prioritization skills, detail-oriented, strong interpersonal and influencing skillsAbility to foster partnerships across lines of business to achieve goals and quality results in high-pressure, rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility and adaptability to changeable directivesExcellent written/verbal communication and presentations skills targeting various stakeholders and senior management  Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics; proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value managementPreferred qualifications, skills and capabilitiesDemonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organizationSome experience coding or developing software or working with data-processing languages or tools including Python, SQL, etc.Familiarity with contribution tooling, CI/CD tools, and GitHubSufficient data engineering and Python development skills to help create and improve open source dashboards and reporting  Comfortable working in and around the financial services industry a plus; prior experience working in a bank or similar institution strongly preferred, should understand what it means to work in a highly regulated industryComfortable with the "working backwards" process, writing PR FAQs, Agile, Jira, Scrum experience Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar JPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
