Furniture Repair Technician

The Furniture Repair Technician is responsible for repairing and refinishing furniture at the distribution centres, stores, in our guests' homes or virtual. Core duties include inspecting assembled products, restoring products to like-new conditions, repairing damaged stock, understanding and following safe work practices, answering guests' questions, documenting service reports, completing electronic paperwork, communicating issues, attending training, inspecting repair parts, ensuring compliance with company policies, demonstrating company values, and participating in the National Certification program.

Success metrics include completions per hour, perfect repair index, speed to guests, and safety compliance.

Qualifications experience includes previous repair, set up and/or warehouse experience, good computer skills, good verbal communication skills, and demonstrating the company's values. Education includes a high school diploma with two years of practical work experience in furniture repair, including upholstery, leather repairs, and wood refinishing. Core competencies include excellent verbal and written communication skills, good physical condition, ability to conduct physical work in warm and cold conditions, operating various equipment and tools, ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, driver's license required, satisfactory criminal record check required, some exposure to solvents, and ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
