Requisition No: 876326 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: OPS LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE - 64960129 1 Pay Plan: Temp Position Number: 64960129 Salary: $23.00-$24.00 per hour Posting Closing Date: 06/04/2026 Responsibilities Prepare clients for clinic visits by accurately recording height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, and medical history. Enter information into client ELR. Support provider/RN during patient care, treatments, and procedures; ensure equipment readiness and sterilization post-procedure. Provide injections, immunizations, medications, and education to clients. Monitor and manage medical supplies to uphold seamless clinic operations. Perform in-house laboratory testing as needed, including venipunctures, urinalysis, hemoglobin, and pregnancy tests; collect specimens and prepare for analysis; assist in labeling and processing. Assist in maintaining inventory of medical supplies, checking supplies in lab, work‑up area, and exam rooms daily; maintain a clean and safe work environment by conducting routine checks and cleaning equipment. Assist with referrals and follow‑ups as needed. Cleans and sterilizes equipment/instruments after procedure. Monitors patient education material supplies and replenishes as needed before and during clinic sessions. Anticipates and communicates deficiencies with supervisor. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of problem‑solving techniques. Knowledge of professional nursing and public health principles, practices, and techniques in specialized areas. Knowledge of the theories and concepts of preventive health care. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of community resources. Knowledge of medical and/or public health field. Knowledge in use of medical equipment (glucometer, blood pressure monitoring devices, thermometer, scale, etc.). Knowledge of multiple computer systems such as HMS, Florida Shots, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services and customer satisfaction. Ability to solve problems. Ability to follow instructions and take direction from management. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize workload, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to work independently and with a team. Ability to work with participants having a variety of physical problems and/or health concerns. Ability to organize and maintain filing systems. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, verbally (on the phone and in person) and in writing. Ability to be responsible for accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness of own work and to perform such work in accordance with procedural and policy guidelines. Ability to document thoroughly. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to give vaccinations and administer medications. Ability to draw blood and collect other specimens as required. Ability to learn and use computer software applications. Ability to use logic and analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses of different approaches. Ability to identify nature of problems. Qualifications Valid and active Florida Licensed Practical Nursing License or a multistate license from another Compact State (F.S. Reference: 464). CPR certification. In‑office work required. Security background check and/or drug screening required.
