Job Title: Maintenance Tech 1
Compensation: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and shift Shifts Available: FT Day shift________________________________________
Position Summary The Maintenance Technician ensures the safety, functionality, and comfort of healthcare and residential facilities. This role supports operational continuity and helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment for patients, residents, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Respond to unanticipated facility needs to minimize risk and service disruption.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of buildings, systems, and equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and applicable codes.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across multiple disciplines.
Receive on-the-job training in:
- Electrical: Lighting, outlets, switches, panels, medium-voltage systems.
- Plumbing: Fixtures, valves, faucets, toilets, drains.
- HVAC: Filters, coils, compressors, VFDs.
- Power Plant Systems: Boilers, chillers, water softeners.
- General Maintenance: Carpentry, painting, workspace modifications, fire/smoke wall repairs.
- Groundskeeping: Snow removal, exterior building upkeep.
- Patient Care Equipment: Fire detection systems, pneumatic tube systems.
Maintain inventory and documentation of parts and repairs.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergencies.
Attend training sessions. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record Skills & Competencies
Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Effective communication with coworkers, residents, families, and contractors
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform maintenance tasks Work Environment
Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and electrical systems
Occasional contact with bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases
