• Position Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
• Schedule: Shift-based
• Location: Livonia, Michigan
• Specialty: Trauma, Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery
• Hospital Information: 304 Beds, Level II Trauma Center
• Team Composition: 6 surgeons, 13 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• Teaching Opportunities: Yes - Involvement with Residents, Medical Students, Fellows, and APPs

Qualifications

• Board Certified in General Surgery
• Board Certified in Surgical Critical Care
• Completion of ACS or SCC Fellowship is required
• Active Michigan medical license (or the ability to obtain one)
• DEA license
• ACLS/BLS certification

Key Responsibilities

Your typical day may involve:

• Delivering comprehensive care in Trauma Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery
• Participating in the management of trauma patients throughout their entire journey, from initial resuscitation to rehabilitation
• Acting as a clinical educator for General Surgery Residents and Surgical Critical Care Fellows
• Engaging in clinical research and scholarly activities
• Taking part in administrative and leadership tasks, including supporting ongoing trauma verification and performance improvement initiatives
• Collaborating on a multidisciplinary trauma program focused on quality, safety, and education
• Documenting patient information in Epic EMR
