Key Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of the Mental Health Counselor include: Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs and developing effective, individualized treatment plans. Delivering personalized therapy sessions using an array of evidence-based modalities tailored to each client's objectives and circumstances. Establishing therapeutic goals and routinely monitoring client progress to ensure optimal outcomes and adjustments to treatment as needed. Providing teletherapy options to facilitate access for clients facing geographical constraints or other accessibility issues. Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation in compliance with ethical standards and best practices in mental health care. Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest research and techniques in mental health counseling. Qualifications Ideal candidates must fulfill the following qualifications: Possess a current and valid state license (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, or PsyD) to practice as a mental health therapist. Hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a strong rapport with clients. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental demeanor in all interactions. Exhibit strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage caseloads and documentation. Preferred Experience While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred: At least two years of direct counseling experience, particularly within an outpatient setting. Experience using teletherapy platforms and techniques effectively. Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care.
