Avionics/Electrical Tech (Level 4) – GAC Mesa Hours: Full‑time, Multiple Shifts. Travel: Up to 25%. Category: Service Center. Requisition: 233650. Job Purpose Provides leadership, technical expertise and guidance while performing varied operational, functional tests and repairs on avionics/electronic aircraft equipment and systems to ensure a defect‑free aircraft. Responsibilities Demonstrate superior technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting, providing direct training to personnel. Teach installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals to ensure defect‑free systems. Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations, troubleshooting processes, and timely quality repairs of malfunctioning systems. Effectively repair or replace defective components and wiring, using acceptable practices such as splicing, soldering and pinning of wiring. Oversee performance and compliance with engineering changes and modifications. Set up and operate necessary test equipment; conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability. Maintain daily logs and other paperwork; ensure proper and complete documentation of all work performed. Pre‑inspect others’ work prior to approval to reduce rework and inspection time. Provide technical expertise in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems. Enforce the company FOD, tool control, 5‑S programs and all safety regulations. Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects. Additional Functions Teach installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components in applicable areas. Perform self‑inspection of all avionics testing functions. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Six years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two years of accredited aviation electronics schooling with four years related experience. Preferred: A&P license, FCC license or NCATT certification; APU and engine run qualification. Proficiency in operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems (hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls or structural installations). Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Benefits & Requirements All shifts available.
