The role involves caring for patients in a telemetry/step-down unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5. Weekend work is required every other weekend. No on-call duties are necessary. Floating within the scope of practice is expected to meet facility needs. Candidates must have experience in telemetry/step-down units. Management of cardiac drips without titration is required. The facility is a short-term acute care facility with a total of 1,273 staffed beds. Daily census in the unit averages 32 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses include heart failure, arrhythmias, and acute renal failure. The unit performs various cardiac-related procedures. Special equipment utilized includes telemetry monitors and cardiac monitors. The facility has a comprehensive compliance deadline policy. Travelers must complete labs and modules before the start of the assignment.
