Organization Overview The Blue Card is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing critical financial assistance and support services to Holocaust survivors living in need across the United States, and to advancing Holocaust education. Through direct aid, specialized programs, compassionate outreach, and educational initiatives, we work to ensure that every survivor can live with dignity, stability, and care, and that the lessons of the Holocaust are preserved for future generations. Job Summary The Development Associate supports The Blue Card’s fundraising efforts through direct donor outreach, stewardship calls, and follow-up correspondence. This is a relationship focused, part‑time role for someone who is personable, organized, and motivated by connecting donors to a mission that supports Holocaust survivors living in need. Key Responsibilities Conduct outbound donor calls to cultivate relationships, express gratitude, and solicit support for The Blue Card’s mission. Follow up with lapsed donors, prospects, and pending pledges to advance the fundraising pipeline. Send personalized donor acknowledgment letters, stewardship emails, and follow-up correspondence. Maintain accurate donor records, call notes, and gift history in the donor database. Support the Executive Director with fundraising campaigns, donor reports, and prospect research. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field. Prior experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or sales strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, DonorPerfect) a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; comfort speaking with donors by phone and drafting professional correspondence.
