Woolfolk – Approved Date: June 30, 2024 AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY Working under the direction of the principal or assigned evaluator, administer the classroom in accordance with School Board policies and uses instructional and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student. Classroom teachers will fulfill duties and responsibilities associated with instruction, supervision, classroom management, student assessment and evaluation, communication and collaboration, and extracurricular involvement. Teachers are held accountable for meeting the TAP Teaching Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities Performance Standards, research‑based standards based on twenty‑six indicators and operationalized against a five‑point scale rubric. Teachers are also responsible for the academic growth of their students. Domain 1: Instruction This domain includes 12 indicators: Standards and Objectives: Planning effective lessons aligned to the standards is dependent on the teacher’s ability to create and communicate clearly defined learning outcomes or objectives appropriate for the students. Motivating Students: The teacher’s ability to organize and present the content in a manner that motivates students to learn. Presenting Instructional Content: The method by which content is taught, the use of visuals, and clear communication of expectations. Lesson Structure and Pacing: Effective segmentation and pacing of lessons. Activities and Materials: Variety and appropriateness of activities and materials to support lesson objectives. Questioning: Techniques for asking and leading student responses. Academic Feedback: Quality feedback and adjustments based on student response. Grouping Students: Instructional arrangements and accountability during activities. Teacher Content Knowledge: Knowledge of the content being taught and ability to apply strategies. Teacher Knowledge of Students: Understanding of student learning styles, interests, and needs. Thinking: Implementing analytical, practical, creative, and research‑based thinking. Problem Solving: Opportunities for students to practice various problem‑solving approaches. Domain 2: Planning This domain includes 3 indicators: Instructional Plans: Developing strong lesson plans. Other Performance Responsibilities Administers classroom in accordance with Caddo Parish School Board policies, including lesson planning, grading, reporting grades, and contributing to school improvement initiatives. Accepts responsibilities related to administrative management and curricular and extracurricular aspects of the school, such as supervision of events and student activities. Works collaboratively with staff, parents, students, and stakeholders. Reports promptly and maintains good attendance in compliance with school board policy and state law. Attends meetings related to instruction, professional training, IEP meetings, parent‑teacher conferences, school events, and student discipline hearings. Completes mandated training such as Project Read, ACT 260 of 2023 Legislative Session, and other required trainings. Applies professional conduct standards and maintains a positive, ethical work environment. Professional Conduct Employee acknowledges that high standards of professional conduct are required. Minimum Qualifications United States citizen or authorized alien; meet Louisiana Bulletin 746 requirements for state certification of school personnel.
