Sales Manager

We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven professional to handle a hybrid inside and outside sales role . In this position, you will split your time between the field—meeting with general contractors and visiting major commercial job sites—and our operations/wholesale hub, where you will manage commercial estimating, vendor procurement relationships, and material sales for The Fence Store . In this position, you will split your time between the field—meeting with general contractors and visiting major commercial job sites—and our operations/wholesale hub, where you will manage commercial estimating, vendor procurement relationships, and material sales for The Fence Store . Key Responsibilities Hybrid Sales Execution: Balance outside business development (networking with GCs and developers) with inside sales (handling commercial accounts, generating bids, and managing counter/phone sales for The Fence Store). Commercial & Temp Specialization: Drive sales and manage logistics for high-demand commercial solutions, including high-security anti-climb perimeters, automated access control gates, and turnkey temporary fence rentals for construction sites. Wholesale Support: Act as a key driver for The Fence Store , supporting material sales, inventory forecasting, and counter trade for local contractors and builders. Vendor & Procurement Management: Build and maintain strong procurement relationships with key material manufacturers and distributors to secure competitive pricing on commercial-grade chain link, ornamental iron, posts, fittings, and temp panels. Estimating & Bidding: Read architectural blueprints and site plans to calculate accurate material take-offs and submit winning commercial bids. Cross-Functional Teamwork: Coordinate closely with operations and installation crews to ensure materials for both commercial projects and wholesale orders are staged and delivered seamlessly. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 1+ years of experience in B2B sales, wholesale distribution, estimating, or procurement within the construction, building materials, or commercial fencing industry. Industry Knowledge: Deep familiarity with commercial fence materials, wholesale inventory, temporary fence setups, high-security specs, and access control hardware. Procurement Mindset: Strong negotiation skills and an established network of material suppliers/vendors. Technical Acumen: Ability to interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications. Self-Starter Attitude: Comfortable managing a hybrid schedule that requires field prospecting, desk estimating, and supporting our wholesale division.
